I am old. Perhaps not in the sense that I experienced the end of WW2, or watched the McCarthy hearings on the newfangled invention called "television", but old nonetheless. You are probably old too, or else you wouldn't have clicked on this subject title. So, let's get that out of the way. Growing old is not for sissies. I often equate my current state in automotive terms: it's hard to find parts for the older models, and it's a pain to find someone who can work on me since my warranty has expired, I'm fully depreciated, and my salvage value is crap. I represent sunk cost for my wife, who has 43 years of experience working with me. And I'm worth more dead than alive. Things we used to take for granted are now Major Issues. Things like running.
